In addition to graphic design, I have a special interest in event design. This includes conceptualization for events in their entirety, as well as individual elements that contribute to the creative execution. My process usually starts with a client presentation or pitch document which - depending on the needs of the client - would include original ideas, reference material, a branding or theming concept and a number of completed design elements. From there, I would also take on the production of the proposed items - creating designs where necessary, sourcing and managing suppliers and lastly, having all items produced and installed for the event itself. Some examples would include:
Custom Décor
I have created custom décor for a large number of events, ranging from custom wallpaper to unique sculptural installations. This would include sourcing and working with appropriate suppliers and overseeing installation and strike where necessary.

Specialist Manufacture and Finishing
Special event items, perfectly manufactured and finished according to the concept or theme of an event can be extremely effective. Often required in large quantities, I conceptualise, design and oversee production for items as varied as hand-sewn fabric menus to hand-painted base plates.

Activations
I have created a number of activations for various corporate clients, often revolving around social media opportunities. Unusual photo-booths are particularly popular, as are arrival experiences and interactive food stations.

Set Design
I have designed a number of sets for conferences, which include the initial look and feel, co-ordinating with set-builders, designing backdrops and sourcing décor and furniture. On occasion, I also create backdrops and sets for DJ booths and trade-shows.

Gifting
Gifting at events has become almost a requirement, and the bar is being set ever higher for more original, memorable gifts while budgets can often be restrictive. I love taking on this challenge, coming up with ideas to fill swag-bags with items that guests will love! Wherever possible, I also create custom packaging to make gifts personal and special. Once decided on, I source, purchase and package items delivering to events ready-to-go!

Paper Craft
Creating interesting print and paper items for events is tremendous fun, and I love to turn simple items into something tactile and special wherever I can. Paper craft is especially effective when done en-masse - as with hundreds of menus - or on an oversized scale, such as a full-size origami wall.
